Details

Main Duties
Assist Qualified Engineer onsite during the installation of intruder and fire alarm systems, CCTV and access control
Assist Qualified Engineer onsite during corrective work and routine inspection of fire and security systems
Work with Qualified Engineer to learn the basics and work to the correct standards
Assist Qualified Engineer to liaise with customers, staff members and suppliers
Attend college once per week for the duration of the apprenticeship and partake in all field training
Trainee Engineers should be familiar with all aspects of fire and security systems by the 3rd year of apprenticeship
By the 3rd year of the apprenticeship, Trainee Engineers are expected to be available to join the 24 hour oncall rota

Requirements

Qualifications, Certificates or Licences
Good general standard of education
Skills, Abilities and Personal Qualities
Being methodical and safety conscious, being physically fit and able to see all colours
Using proper judgement and tact, being courteous and discrete
Being able to work on own initiative
Understanding technical information and drawings
Understanding mathematical calculations and other numerical data
Working at height
Taking measurements and performing calculations
Being practical and reasonable
A driving licence is essential to progress to become a Qualified Engineer. If the candidate does not already have a driving license, he / she must intend to obtain a full license
Experience
No experience in this field required as full training will be given
